OPT 7342 Systemic Medicine & Disease 1 2.0 Credits
This course is the first in a two-term sequence designed to advance the student's knowledge of systemic diseases commonly encountered in primary and specialty eye care settings. For each organ system, emphasis is placed on epidemiology, risk factor analysis, pertinent history and physical examination findings, differential diagnosis, treatment and management, relevant laboratory evaluations, and ocular manifestations. The Systemic Medicine laboratory component provides certification in Basic Life Support.
