OPT 7404 Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease 1 W Lab 1.5 Credit
The Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease Course Series builds on the foundation laid in the Head and Neck Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, and Neurologic Examination Courses. This course series consists of 3 courses, and covers the clinical application of the neuroscience, anatomy and neuroanatomy principles learned in previous courses. This course offers students the opportunity not only to apply those important basic science concepts clinically, but to learn how to properly examine, diagnose, and treat patients with neuro-ophthalmic manifestations. Specifically, this course, Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease 1, covers evaluation and management of disorders of the afferent visual system. All optometrists, regardless of mode of practice, need to be able to recognize neuro-ophthalmic disease and the potential need for urgent referral.
