PA 5214 PA Professional Practice and Health Systems 3.0 Credits
This lecture-based course introduces students to the Physician Assistant profession through an integrated study of professional practice, leadership, health policy, and the U.S. health care system. Students examine the interdisciplinary team approach to patient care, professional responsibilities, accreditation processes, and requirements for certification and licensure. Emphasis is placed on systems-based practice, health care financing, quality improvement, risk management, and documentation. Learners also explore cultural humility, health equity, advocacy, and wellness within the PA role.
