PA 5314 Principles of Ethics and Evidence-based Practice 3.0 Credits
This lecture-based course examines ethical and professional issues in Physician Assistant practice while introducing foundational concepts in evidence-based medicine, epidemiology, and clinical research. Students explore medical ethics and the relationship between patient welfare and health as a human right. The course reviews epidemiologic principles, research methodologies, study designs, and levels of scientific evidence to develop skills in critically appraising literature. Through lectures and cooperative learning, students apply evidence-based practice within primary care and build the professional judgment expected of PAs.
