PAS 5142 Advanced Clinical Skills 3 2.5 Credits
Advanced Clinical Skills 3 is the third of a three-course series. Areas of study will include, but are not limited to: slit lamp examination, suturing, surgical gowning and gloving, venipuncture, injections, and IV placements. The course also includes three lab workshops focused on the application and interpretation of laboratory values for given clinical scenarios. Students will justify their lab orders and discuss the lab interpretations in small groups to effectively assess, treat, and educate a patient within a given clinical scenario. Lectures on radiologic tests and the interpretation of such tests will be provided. Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification will also be completed. In-Person, Lecture/Lab.
