PBHL 2010 Global Health: Issues and Determinants 3.0 Credits
This course introduces key concepts and debates in global health, emphasizing why disease burdens differ across countries and populations and how health is shaped by social, political, economic, and environmental conditions, as well as health systems (e.g., governance, financing, workforce, and service delivery). Students examine how global health is measured and compared across settings and how resource constraints, from financing and workforce capacity to infrastructure and governance, shape the feasibility and impact of interventions. Using case studies, students practice analyzing and communicating evidence-informed approaches to addressing contemporary global health challenges.
