PBHL 2030 Biostatistics I 3.0 Credits
Biostatistics provides the tools to turn data into scientific knowledge that can improve human health. In this course, students gain skills in foundational biostatistical methods, including probability, hypothesis testing and parameter estimation, analysis of categorical data, hypothesis testing and confidence intervals for means and proportions, and linear regression. The course emphasizes the appropriate application of methods based on study design and data characteristics. Students use the open-source statistical software R.
