PBHL 3024 Environmental Justice and Health 3.0 Credits
The First National People of Color Environmental Leadership Summit was a gathering that brought together Black people, Native people, and people of color from across the US in 1991. Organizers and participants outlined a comprehensive list of 17 principles to ensure Environmental Justice in BIPOC communities, highlighting humanity’s interdependence with the Earth. During this course, students will engage in in-depth study of these principles and learn how to apply these principles to their work and research as a guiding framework. Course topics will include environmental justice methods, climate change adaptation, and Embodied Earth Care and Connection.
