PHIL 1015 Introduction to Symbolic Logic 3.0 Credits
This course will explore the formal systems used to analyze reasoning and arguments. Students will develop skills in translating ordinary and scientific language into symbolic notation and evaluating arguments with precision. The course covers the foundations of propositional and predicate logic, including truth tables, formal proofs, and logical validity. Emphasis is placed on clarity, rigor, and the structure underlying deductive reasoning.
