PHIL 3011 Philosophy of Mind 3.0 Credits

This course is about philosophical inquiry into the nature of "mind." Does it make sense to reduce “mental” to physical phenomena? How can thoughts, if they are located in the brain, refer to things outside in the world? What are the implications of thinking there is a realm other than or beyond matter? Students will critically engage with and analyze such questions by drawing on their experience and knowledge from research in various disciplines.
