PHIL 3021 Philosophy of Science 3.0 Credits
This course explores the nature and aims of scientific inquiry and practice, and how science differs from other forms of inquiry. Students will examine how scientific laws, theories and models are developed, evaluated, and justified, and consider debates about realism and anti-realism, objectivity, the role of values in science, and the dynamics of scientific change. The course combines historical and contemporary perspectives, emphasizing critical and collaborative engagement with key texts.
