PHTO 3003 Film Photography 3.0 Credits
This is an introductory course in analog, film-based black and white photography. Students will explore the technical and aesthetic foundations of the medium through hands-on practice with medium format cameras, film development, and wet darkroom printing techniques. The course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the entire photographic process, from capturing an image to creating a finished print. The curriculum blends technical instruction with creative development, encouraging students to use the absence of color to emphasize light, shadow, texture, and composition.
