PHYS 1401 Contemporary Physics I 4.0 Credits
Part I of a calculus-based introductory physics sequence for physics and related majors delivered in a lecture/computational lab format with real-time numerical simulations. Topics include the fundamental forces, Newton's laws, relativistic motion, the atomic nature of matter, friction, work and energy, atomic nuclei, oscillatory motion, light, angular momentum, entropy, specific heat, Boltzmann Distribution, and atomic speeds in a gas.
