PHYS 2711 Introduction to Computational Physics 3.0 Credits
Introductory course covering the application of computational techniques to problems in physics, including numerical methods for differentiation, integration, solving differential equations for initial and boundary value problems, and consideration of the treatment of sources of numerical error. The course includes implementation of selected methods to study physical systems, such as examining nonlinear dynamics and chaotic behavior, and the use of visualization and data analysis tools for solving problems in computational physics using the computing language of instruction.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
Prerequisites: PHYS 1401 [Min Grade: D] or PHYS 1201 [Min Grade: D]
