PLCY 5002 Policy Analysis and Program Evaluation 3.0 Credits
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of program evaluation and the logic of causal inference. Students will examine both experimental and quasi-experimental approaches to policy evaluation, including randomized controlled trials, natural experiments, and difference-in-differences designs. The course also considers the limitations and ethical challenges of evaluation research and explores how evidence can be effectively communicated to policymakers and other stakeholders. By integrating policy design, program evaluation, and evidence translation, students will develop the analytical skills needed to critically assess public policies and contribute to more effective and accountable governance.
