POLS 3014 City in U.S. Political Development 3.0 Credits
This course examines the political development of American cities in terms of both their internal functions and powers, and their evolving role in the larger polity. Students will be looking specifically at theories of urban society and politics, the dynamics of city politics and political development, city governance structures, city politics in the larger context of federalism, and city policy.
