PTRS 8630 Musculoskeletal Management II 5.0 Credits

This is the second in a series of two lecture and lab-based courses related to Orthopaedic physical therapy across the lifespan. This course emphasizes the variation in age groups related to differential diagnosis, clinical decision making, and development and implementation of an evidence informed plan of care for conservative and post-operative management of patients demonstrating musculoskeletal dysfunction of the lower extremity, thoracolumbar and lumbopelvic spine. Students will use a case-based format to develop clinical decision-making skills and practice psychomotor skills necessary to perform exam and manual treatment techniques. Emphasis is placed on the use of exam procedures to inform differential diagnosis and also on progression of clinical interventions.
