PTRS 8670 Evidence-Based Practice II 2.0 Credits

This course advances students’ ability to generate clinical questions and to locate, analyze, synthesize, and apply research to physical therapy practice. Building on foundational concepts, students deepen their understanding of research theory, measurement, experimental design, sampling, and statistical inference. Using patient cases, students formulate focused clinical questions, conduct comprehensive literature searches, and identify the best available evidence. Students critically appraise studies for validity, relevance, and applicability, with emphasis on determining the efficacy of therapeutic, rehabilitative, and preventive interventions. Emphasis is placed on integrating evidence into clinical decision-making to support effective, patient-centered care.
