PTRS 8700 Introduction to DPT Education and Practice 1.0 Credit

This course introduces DPT students to the diverse clinical settings where physical therapy is delivered across the lifespan. Through clinical observations and didactic activities, students explore the continuum of care, professional behaviors, and interpersonal skills essential for effective practice. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, communication, emotional intelligence, resilience, cultural humility, and social responsibility. Students engage in role-play, case-based scenarios, and reflective journaling to develop professional skills, create a personal development plan, and understand the impact of professional behavior on patient care and collaboration.
