PTRS 8810 Diagnostic and Interventional Technology 3.0 Credits

This course equips DPT students with foundational knowledge and hands-on skills in biophysical agents and diagnostic technology. Students apply thermal, mechanical, electromagnetic, and electrotherapeutic modalities using evidence-informed clinical reasoning. Instruction includes principles of ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing within the PT scope of practice, including identifying anatomical structures, interpreting imaging findings, and applying measurements to guide physical therapy decisions. Patient cases across the lifespan support decision-making in diverse physical therapy settings.
