PTRS 9020 Neuromuscular Management I 4.0 Credits
This foundational course introduces physical therapist management of individuals with neurologic conditions across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on examination, evaluation, clinical diagnosis, and development of a plan of care for common neurologic impairments. Students learn fundamental principles of neuromuscular strengthening, balance-based interventions, and task-specific training. Through guided instruction and structured case examples, students develop early clinical reasoning skills, formulate rehabilitation plans of care, and select appropriate outcome measures and interventions to achieve patient goals. Students develop safe, evidence-informed intervention strategies consistent with entry-level DPT practice expectations.
