PTRS 9190 Health Administration and Policy II 2.0 Credits
This course examines the organizational, administrative, fiscal, and policy frameworks that shape contemporary health care practice. Emphasis is placed on understanding health care systems, reimbursement models, regulatory and legislative processes, and the administrative responsibilities of health care practitioners within diverse practice settings. Students explore health policy and health services as they relate to professional practice, including the impact of legislation, social determinants of health, and health disparities on access, quality, and outcomes of care. The course also develops skills in advocacy, ethical decision-making, and leadership to prepare practitioners to navigate, influence, and contribute to effective, equitable, and sustainable health care delivery.
