REMD 3320 Sustainability in the Built Environment 3.0 Credits

This course explores the integration of sustainability and resiliency into real estate planning, development, and management. Students examine energy efficiency, water and waste management, and environmentally responsible design practices across the property lifecycle. Topics include green building standards, rating systems, and the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit in a real estate context. The course emphasizes how sustainable and resilient practices affect property values, operational costs, and community development, as well as their role in shaping city planning and long-term asset performance. Students gain the tools to critically evaluate sustainable strategies in real estate investment and management.
