REMD 3340 Urban Finance and Environmental Planning 3.0 Credits
This course examines the interaction between urban real estate markets, public policy, and environmental planning. Students explore why cities form and grow, the economics of land use and density, and the combined impacts on development patterns. Topics include property taxation, zoning, planning, and land-use controls, as well as the effects of regulations on housing prices and urban form. The course also addresses economic development, the valuation of greenspace, and the rise of green building practices. Emphasis is placed on understanding how finance, policy, and sustainability shape urban growth, community well-being, and the future of cities.
