RSCH 8300 Foundations in Intervention Research 3.0 Credits
Foundations of Intervention Research introduces doctoral students to the concepts and methods used with clinical and behavioral interventions that improve health outcomes. Building on foundational doctoral coursework, students examine the continuum of intervention research, including use of existing data, pilot and feasibility studies, and experimental and quasi-experimental designs. Emphasis is placed on understanding efficacy and effectiveness, aligning theory with intervention development, and addressing measurement, ethics, and implementation considerations. Through critical analysis and applied assignments, students develop skills in appraising and planning intervention research.
