SBUS 2275 Sports Event Planning and Facility Operations 3.0 Credits

This course provides students with comprehensive learning experiences in planning, funding, and managing sports events, as well as in the operation, design, and maintenance of sport facilities. Covering professional, amateur, and collegiate events, as well as commercial, recreational, and club sports, students gain practical insights through field studies, guest speakers, and classroom instruction. The course also examines how advancements in technologies—such as digital ticketing, event management software, and smart facility systems—are transforming the planning, execution, and management of sports events and venues. As an elective, it provides additional depth for interested students. Students will learn to apply key concepts, analyze real-world situations, and communicate evidence-based recommendations.
