SBUS 2285 Sport in Society: Trends, Issues, and Opportunities 3.0 Credits
This course examines the social forces that shape the sport industry in the United States and internationally, as well as the influence of the sport industry on society. Students critically analyze sport from economic, historical, political, and sociological perspectives, with attention to how economic uncertainty affects industry operations and decision-making. The course explores corporate social responsibility and the broader societal impact of sport. Students gain the skills to evaluate and respond to the evolving challenges and opportunities within the global sport landscape. As a required course, it supports progression in the program. Students will learn to apply key concepts, analyze real-world situations, and communicate evidence-based recommendations.
