SBUS 3320 Sports Economics 3.0 Credits
An introduction to the economics of sports, this course examines sports markets, including demand, supply, pricing, and pricing strategies. Also league organization, and comparative systems are covered. Monopoly power, and market failure in sports are discussed and modeled. The course also covers sports labor markets and the importance of unions in professional sports. As an elective, it provides additional depth for interested students. Students will learn to apply key concepts, analyze real-world situations, and communicate evidence-based recommendations.
