SBUS 3325 Innovations in Sport Media 3.0 Credits
This course examines the intersection of sports media business and media relations in sport management. Students will analyze the financial relationships between media companies and sports franchises, both nationally and internationally, including how broadcasters leverage technology shifts, favorable Federal policies, and, at times, Congressional intervention. The course also explores the structure and valuation of media rights deals for organizations such as the NFL, Major League Baseball, the NBA, and College Conference Networks. In addition, students will develop essential media relations skills—including writing, communication, planning, and organizational abilities—preparing them to successfully navigate both the business and relational aspects of the sport media industry.
