This course provides an in-depth examination of marketing and promotional strategies in the modern sport industry. Students will analyze the evolving sport consumer landscape—shaped by changing U.S. demographics, global influences, and digital engagement—to understand how identity, culture, and community impact fan behavior. Topics include market research and segmentation, sport products and services, sponsorship and partnership strategy, media and content marketing, public relations, and social and emerging media platforms. The course culminates with the creation of an integrated marketing plan that applies these concepts to a real or hypothetical sport property.
