SCRP 3375 Adaptation for the Screen 3.0 Credits
This course investigates a media landscape saturated with adaptations that leverage all the benefits of intellectual property owned by various entertainment entities. Such adaptations range in scale and scope from gigantic super-hero franchises to small, independent film takes on literary novels. Through reading and screening primary texts as well as academic analysis, this class explores practical approaches and requirements of adaptation. Students work towards a treatment and pitch presentation of a selected work for adaptation.
