This course is designed to advance students from developers to software designers who can make informed architectural and design decisions that yield high-quality, maintainable, and evolvable systems. It introduces core design principles and key design and architecture patterns, emphasizing design as a disciplined decision-making process for managing complexity and change. Students build strong abstraction skills and learn to use AI to speed up implementation while monitoring, assessing, and ensuring the overall soundness of the design and architecture.
