SOC 1001 Introduction to Sociology 3.0 Credits
This course serves as an introduction to what sociology is and what it studies. Topics include socialization, group dynamics, gender roles, structural inequality, race and ethnic group relations, stratification, deviance, and population studies. Special attention is paid to core social institutions (e.g. family, education, religion, political and economic systems) as well as theories and methods that guide sociological investigation.
