THTR 2305 Stage and Production Management for Live Events 3.0 Credits

This course will focus on the interrelated fields of stage management and production management, with a particular focus on stage/production management for theatre, dance, and live music performances. Students will learn skills that are transferable to any live event. Key topics will include: running a rehearsal room; taking blocking notes; calling light and sound cues; personnel management and the roles and duties of a production team; budget planning and management; project timeline development and management; and the technical rehearsal process. This will give students an understanding of what it takes to manage a production from rehearsals through final performance and empower them to more confidently step into these very important management positions.
