ULAW 1210 The U.S. Legal System 3.0 Credits

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the structure and operation of the U.S. legal system. The course introduces the difference between state and federal law, the legal foundations of checks and balances, and the structure and jurisdiction of both state and federal courts. The course also provides an overview of civil and criminal legal systems, introducing elements of constitutional law, legal ethics, and the role of lawyers in the judicial system.
