ULAW 3230 Comparative Legal Analysis 3.0 Credits

Students will examine legal systems outside the United States to understand how the nature and structure of judicial power impacts law, policy, and the adjudication of social problems. Topics may include sources of authority and structure of courts that exercise judicial review; avenues to constitutional courts; the role of litigants, lawyers, and governments in shaping the agenda for those courts; and claims about whether and why courts are “anti-democratic.”.
