WRIT 3620 Machine Texts: Writing for and about AI 3.0 Credits
Helps students assess the capability of generative AI as a writing tool, reflect on the role and responsibilities of authors when machines can play a significant role in writing, experiment with AI in their own work, investigate shifting definitions and concepts of authenticity, and consider how AI affects writing-focused fields and professions. Course materials include current and formative texts about writing, AI, and technology. Assignments offer opportunities to work practically with as well as reflectively on generative AI and its capabilities so students can exert control on the writing technologies they will encounter in their professional, personal, and civic lives in the future.
