ACCT 510 Essentials of Financial Reporting 3.0 Credits

The course introduces prospective users of financial accounting information with an understanding of accounting fundamentals and the ability to evaluate the quality of financial accounting information for use in business decisions. The accounting process and the primary financial statements will be studied. Also, the accounting treatment for financial statement line items will be discussed and the implications of the treatment and related accounting choices for the quality of the financial accounting information will be explored. This course builds on the accounting tools and techniques to develop a foundation for further study of several business topics in later courses.
