CBIO 512S Advanced Cancer Biology 2.0 Credits

The goal of this course is to provide an in-depth understanding of current cancer biology research. This course is designed to introduce students to the advanced concepts of cancer biology and latest conceptual, technical and therapeutic advances. Students will become familiar with the latest research in many topics related to cancer biology, including cancer stem cells, cancer metabolism and cancer microenvironment, as well as with the basic cancer bioinformatics tools. Students will get first-hand experience in hypothesis development based on current cancer research findings and propose aims to test hypothesis. This course is intended for 2nd year graduate students. CBIO 510S is a prerequisite since a basic understanding of cancer biology will be needed. The prerequisite can be waived by Course Director.
