ESCI 201 Introduction to Exercise Science 4.0 Credits

This course introduces students to the field of exercise science. Students enrolled in the course learn about the scientific and historical origins of exercise science and sports medicine, and are informed about the professions’ scope of practice, career opportunities and certifications, critical issues, and biases. Students also gain exposure in the major’s sub-disciplines, which include but are not limited to exercise physiology, nutrition, epidemiology, kinesiology/biomechanics, and behavioral, psychological, and social dimensions of exercise science.
