NUAN 602 Fundamental Principles of Nurse Anesthesia Practice 3.0 Credits

This course examines the operational principles of various types of anesthesia machines utilized in practice. Current practice issues, cultural competency, standards of anesthesia practice, and the risk of substance use disorder in the profession are also examined. Theoretical, practical aspects of airway management and common anesthesia equipment utilized in practice is discussed. The lecture content is reinforced through simulation in the NUAN 604-Introduction to Simulation for Nurse Anesthesia Practice course.
