NUAN 702 Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum I 2.0 Credits

This is the first of seven nurse anesthesia clinical practicum courses. The course focuses on the fundamental principles to deliver safe care across the peri-anesthesia continuum. With preceptor guidance, students develop novice skills needed to safely administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical and/or diagnostic procedures. Student development of anesthesia care plans tailored to the patient’s medical, surgical and cultural needs coupled with preceptor guidance, provide the foundation to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice. Satisfactory evaluation of student’s clinical performance fosters clinical progression. This course is also complemented by clinical case presentations and simulation.
