This is the second of seven nurse anesthesia clinical practicum courses. Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum II builds upon the clinical knowledge and foundational concepts developed in Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum I to promote novice critical thinking and decision-making skills during the administration of care across the perianesthesia continuum. As didactic knowledge and clinical competency increase, students may also participate in the anesthesia management of patients undergoing more complex procedures. Student development of anesthesia care plans tailored to the patient’s medical, surgical and cultural needs coupled with preceptor guidance, provide the foundation to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice.
