NUPR 652 WHNP III: Evidence-Based Management for Low-Risk Obstetric/Postpartum Needs of Women/Families 5.0 Credits

This course is designed to introduce the WHNP student to low-risk obstetrical assessment and care of the pregnant woman, the fetus, and the family unit. Critical analysis of clinical strategies and interventions in health promotion, health maintenance, disease prevention in obstetrics as well as management of common, uncomplicated OB conditions will be thoroughly investigated during this course. This course fosters the development of women’s health nurse practitioners in providing evidence-based clinical care through the integration of advanced diagnostic reasoning, advanced medical intervention, and advanced pharmacotherapeutic intervention. Faculty-supervised clinical practicum is required in this course.
