NUPR 706 Improving Quality and Safety of Health Care Delivery 4.5 Credits

This course provides graduate students with the expertise necessary for leading and/or contributing to quality improvement projects and science-driven safety initiatives within varying types of healthcare systems to enhance outcomes by improving processes and/or organizational structures and designs. Knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to patient-centered care; teamwork and collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, safety and informatics will be investigated. Reports, recommendations, and evidence-driven toolkits will be reviewed and applied to select practice problems. Safety science is viewed as a critical component of high-quality care. Graduate students participate in interprofessional practice activities directly related to quality improvement and/or safety.
