NURS 344 Safety Science and Quality Improvement: Delivering a Safe and Excellent Care Experience 4.5 Credits

This course focuses on evidence-based strategies and resources that are designed and implemented to enhance the safety and improve the quality of delivered care in healthcare systems. QSEN competencies are examined as expectations of professional nursing practice. Safety science is investigated, and quality improvement methods are introduced. Events that pose patient safety threats and responses to safeguard patients are considered. Workplace violence in the healthcare environment and its negative implications to the healthcare team and patient safety are explored.
