This course provides a comprehensive study of marketing and promotions practices in the sports industry. Students will gain an understanding of the uniqueness of the sports business through analysis of the sport consumer, the different types of market research in sport, market segmentation, the sport product, the role of sales and service, sponsorships, paid media and promotions, public relations, and social media. The course culminates with students incorporating gained knowledge into a marketing plan for a sports property.
