About the Program

The MS in Economics and Data Science program is an interdisciplinary STEM degree that prepares graduates to work in an data-driven environment in business, government, and academia. Coursework in data science teaches students how to manage, manipulate, and parse data to extract knowledge and insight. Economics courses provides a framework for understanding the causes and effects of what the data measure and how to forecast based on that information. The program provides excellent training for careers in insurance, consulting, finance, data analytics, retailing, and government. It also provides outstanding preparation for further graduate study at the PhD level in business, data science, public health, economics and/or other social sciences.

  • A GMAT or GRE can be submitted for additional consideration for admissions. Our admissions committee decisions are based on the entire application package.
  • International Applicants
  • TOEFL or IELTS is required for applicants who did not earn an undergraduate or graduate degree in the United States. For admission consideration, we look for an overall minimum TOEFL score of 90 (with a 22 or higher in Speaking and Listening).; alternatively, an overall minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with a minimum score of 6.5 in Speaking and Listening).
