COM 211 Media and Youth Culture 3.0 Credits
This course examines the ways that youth cultures have significantly influenced and been shaped by legacy and contemporary media, including film, music, television, the Internet, gaming, and social media. Students will explore the role of youth in participatory culture and subcultures, the development of youth and teen markets as important sites of culture, and the commodification of youth activities and objects.
