ECON 1201 Principles of Microeconomics 3.0 Credits
This course introduces Economics as the study of decision-making in a world of scarcity and uses microeconomics to explain fundamental aspects of consumer and firm behavior. What is produced in an economy, how is it produced, and who receives the output? Students will learn to think like economists, exploring market successes and failures through theory, policy, and real-world evidence. The class builds valuable practical skills for informed decision-making, whether as consumers, entrepreneurs, executives, policymakers, or leaders. Whether or not students pursue economics further, the goal is for them to learn to apply these skills to understand the world around them and become better-informed citizens.
